Sarah, also known as Insuh Baek, embodies the values and mission of the KPA Scholarship. Born in Seoul and fluent in Korean, Sarah has maintained a deep connection to her heritage through language and cultural traditions. She actively promotes Korean culture in the community as a black-belt Taekwondo instructor, where she teaches not only martial arts but also Korean etiquette and language to children—including those with disabilities.
Her dedication extends beyond cultural engagement. Sarah is a distinguished student and a respected leader, serving as the President of Tenafly High School’s Science Olympiad team and earning accolades at the state and national levels. Academically, she maintains an exceptional GPA of 4.61 and is recognized as an AP Scholar with Distinction and a National Merit Commended Scholar.
Sarah will attend Northwestern University this fall, where she plans to continue promoting Korean culture through Taekwondo and pursue a career in psychiatry or clinical psychology, with a vision to address public health issues within the Korean American community.
We congratulate Sarah on her many accomplishments and are honored to support her continued growth as a scholar, cultural ambassador, and community leader.
