Casey Yom

As a second-generation Korean American, Casey dedicated herself to political activism within the Asian American community. As an integral member of the Asian American Youth Council, Casey developed action plans to increase voter participation rates as well as work with local politicians to address political rights and increased the celebration of Asian Americans. As Vice President of the Young Democrats Club, she also organized high school voter drives to help fellow students register to vote and encourage them to become active members of their local communities. She is the founder and host of her own insightful and creative podcast titled “Don’t Click on This Podcast” in which she discusses various social issues and current events. Casey recognizes the importance of representation and activism, displaying great pride in her culture as she continues to inspire her community through social and political activism.

Casey will attend Barnard College of Columbia University in the fall, majoring in Medical Anthropology. Looking ahead, she will continue her efforts to promote and share Korean culture and advocate for the Asian American Community.
